Try before you pay, cancel any time, and ask if something is wrong. Here is how the free tier, cancellations, and refunds work.

You do not need to pay to try General Text. The desktop app and a browser sandbox are free to use, so you can work with your files before subscribing. Sync, which adds cross-device access, collaboration, and durable cloud storage, is the paid feature. If you cancel, your workspaces stay on your device, fully editable and exportable.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep sync access through the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your workspaces drop to local-only, with nothing deleted.
If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Outside that window, we consider reasonable refund requests on a case-by-case basis, including for accidental or duplicate charges.
Our payments and refunds are processed by our Merchant of Record, Stripe. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method; the time to appear depends on your provider. For billing enquiries you can contact us or Stripe directly.
Email hello@generaltext.org with your account email and, if you have it, the Stripe order or receipt number. We aim to respond within a few business days.
